Documentary In Production . . . Shows How Honduras Can Help Itself

April 14, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Documentary In Production . . . Shows How Honduras Can Help Itself

By DEXTER DUGGAN Impacting culture for Christ is the goal of California’s John Paul the Great Catholic University, located in northern San Diego County. A key tool the school uses is educating students in media production, aided by experts from Southern California’s entertainment industry. Among recent items at the “news center” at the school’s website (www.jpcatholic.com) is an article about a former John Paul the Great student, Brian Olson, working on a documentary about the positive side of Honduras, despite problems the Central American country faces. It’s titled La Otra Cara, meaning The Other Face or The Other Side. The website article, “Documentary aims to show ‘another side’ of Honduras,” says the production company, Lush Works, recently launched a small…Continue Reading

Arizona Governor… Signs Bill Informing Women Drug Abortions May Be Reversed

April 13, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Arizona Governor… Signs Bill Informing Women Drug Abortions May Be Reversed

By DEXTER DUGGAN PHOENIX — A reminder that elections have consequences occurred when Arizona’s new Republican governor, Doug Ducey, signed a pro-life bill requiring that doctors tell patients the effects of the “abortion pill” may be reversed if quick action is taken. It was the first such measure in the nation to become law. And, on the tax-funding issue, the new law also prohibits plans on Arizona’s federally run health-care exchange from offering coverage for elective abortions. During the 2014 gubernatorial election here, pro-abortion liberal Democrat Fred DuVal said at a candidate forum that a 14-year-old girl shouldn’t need parental consent for an abortion because the young teenager should be able to exercise her own “reproductive freedom,” without her parents’…Continue Reading

A Movie Review . . . Little Boy: All Things Are Possible

April 12, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on A Movie Review . . . Little Boy: All Things Are Possible

By REY FLORES Little Boy is a cinematic triumph. This movie is simply one of the best movies I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Perhaps I am a little biased because I actually heard a fundraising pitch back in 2010 for the movie, a pitch made by filmmaker Alejandro Monteverde himself. While Monteverde described what his new project would be, little did I imagine that he would accomplish the glorious film he did, but enough about that. Little Boy takes us into another era when America was a much different place — a time when our country was still united by traditional family values and when men were expected to be men and women were happy to…Continue Reading

Political Researcher . . . Offers Idea For Winning GOP Team In 2016

April 12, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Political Researcher . . . Offers Idea For Winning GOP Team In 2016

By DEXTER DUGGAN PHOENIX — Conservatives must step up their efforts to prevail in the 2016 elections or else face the threat of being swallowed up by a “one-party state” empowered by massive illegal immigration and engineered by radical leftist Barack Obama, a researcher, author, and political activist warned a meeting here. New Zealander Trevor Loudon was on another of his speaking tours of the United States when he appeared before the Arizona Project Tea Party here on April 6, the day after Easter. After reviewing current developments, Loudon went on to offer hope for how a Republican presidential team could campaign in 2016. His talk occurred just after many Americans had been shocked by the vehemence and scope of…Continue Reading

The Myth Of The Back-Alley Abortion

April 12, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on The Myth Of The Back-Alley Abortion

By REY FLORES Planned Parenthood, NARAL, the National Abortion Federation, and all of their stooges in Washington, D.C., always like to use their “back-alley abortions” straw man argument whenever any anti-abortion bills are presented at either the state or the federal level. Do these organizations and the fiends that run them really believe that we will return to those scary old days of back-alley abortions? Really? It is a fact that no matter how many stop signs we have or how many traffic signals are signaling red, there are and most likely will always be car accidents because someone did not obey the stop sign or the traffic signal. It is also a fact that no matter how many laws…Continue Reading

Mideast Christians, Cultures Under Attack

April 11, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Mideast Christians, Cultures Under Attack

By JOHN J. METZLER UNITED NATIONS — Throughout the chaos, calamity, and conflict that have befallen the Middle East, there are few groups which have come under such intense attack as Christians and minority ethnic communities. As countries like Iraq and Syria face the sharp end of ethnic and political strife, the persecution of small but significant Christian communities by terrorist elements such as Islamic State (IS) has tragically followed. This deadly plague of religious persecution has spilled over into neighboring countries, including Libya and Egypt. In the vast “cradle of civilization” — that extraordinary historic region following the Tigris River in Iraq — the contemporary flow of events includes the Islamic State horde that kills and imprisons Christians and…Continue Reading

The Logic Of Birth Control Vs. The Logic Of Human Nature

With his wife Sheila, he is a coauthor of Natural Family Planning: The Complete Approach and cofounder of NFP International. This commentary appeared on his blog [johnkippley.com] and is reprinted with permission.) + + + I first saw the subject of this article in a book written by secular humanist Walter Lippmann and published in 1929. The 1920s era was not only a time of bootleg liquor in the United States; it was also a time in which effective contraception was becoming widely known. It was practiced in secular circles, debated in religious…Continue Reading

As Media Push Death For Others . . . At Least Copilot Lubitz Knew He’d Share Same Fate As Victims

April 9, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on As Media Push Death For Others . . . At Least Copilot Lubitz Knew He’d Share Same Fate As Victims

By DEXTER DUGGAN As news reports began appearing about the startling Germanwings crash into the French Alps, some online headlines said two babies were among the 150 people on board the commercial jetliner. Other headlines noted that a German high school class also perished in the March 24 disaster. Early headlines didn’t focus on how many middle-aged bankers or bakers or retired vacationers may have met a tragic end on the flight, whose destruction reportedly was caused intentionally by apparently unstable copilot Andreas Lubitz. It’s not that none of the other lives mattered to news editors. Each life on the plane was important, starting with the person who was living it. It was simply additional poignant sadness that some so…Continue Reading

Not Just “A Personal Matter”… Ethics Panel Says Judges To Perform “Same-Sex Marriages”

April 7, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Not Just “A Personal Matter”… Ethics Panel Says Judges To Perform “Same-Sex Marriages”

By DEXTER DUGGAN PHOENIX — The judicial march toward imposing controversial “same-sex marriage” on the United States involves more than one aspect of the issue. It’s not only inventing how to allow two members of the same sex to be recognized as a married couple, but also forcefully denying the right of anyone else to dissent from this legal fabrication. The First Amendment’s guarantee of religious liberty is simply ground into dust while the jackboots of mandatory immorality stomp on people. The Associated Press reported March 16 that Arizona’s Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee issued an opinion saying that judges who perform wedding ceremonies must also perform “same-sex” weddings, even if judges have a sincere religious objection. The judge isn’t allowed…Continue Reading
