Hitting A Home Run?. . . A Measure Of U.S. Today: Trump Indictment And Drag-Queen Honors

June 21, 2023 Frontpage No Comments

By DEXTER DUGGAN

Republican Donald Trump represented considerably less of a threat to the moral future of the United States and world than the cultural decay that continued to expose itself over issues like the glorification of drag queens, even by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
But Trump’s indictment on federal charges for allegedly storing and hiding classified documents from his presidency at his Florida mansion still was unprecedented.
No former president previously had been indicted like this, and certainly not when he was targeted by the banana-republic Justice Department of the sitting president whose re-election Trump threatened, Democrat Joe Biden.
“The Justice Department unveiled a 49-page indictment on Friday [June 9] that indicts Trump on 37 counts for charges related to alleged obstruction and mishandling of classified documents,” the Washington Examiner reported.
National legal commentator Jonathan Turley wrote in his June 12 column that the “indictment has merit, but the Justice Department lost the right to expect trust from the citizens years ago” because of “years of scandal and documented political bias by key Justice officials.”
Turley wrote, “We’re also meant to not think about the fact that the Biden administration is charging the leading candidate opposing him in the upcoming election.”
Perhaps the most prominent case of unequal justice is that of former Democratic presidential candidate and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Although she never was president and therefore not legally authorized to declassify classified material, she didn’t merely retain classified material she had created but flagrantly illegally destroyed it so it never could be examined.
Hillary never was indicted, nor was her husband, Democrat Bill Clinton, who is a former president but escaped indictment for keeping audio recordings of his discussions in the White House after his term was over.
Asked by The Wanderer for his reaction to Trump’s indictment, national conservative commentator Quin Hillyer said on June 12: “As laid out by the special counsel, the allegations against Trump are extremely serious, involving deliberate, willful mishandling of some of the most important secrets in our government, including those having to do with nuclear weapons and with war plans.
“By his own taped admission, Trump never declassified these documents,” Hillyer said. “No man is above the law. If even some of these serious allegations are proved in court, Trump should go to prison.”
Meanwhile, an amazing campaign continued to normalize serious defiance of morality while casting those who defend traditional morality as extremists.
NBC News portrayed Drag Queen Story Hour this way: “The popular national storytelling program, where drag performers read children’s books to kids at libraries, schools, and other venues, has drawn particular ire from right-wing extremists.”
Merely a “popular national” program that raises the hackles of “right-wing extremists”?
Leftists seemed perplexed and amazed that anyone could object when disordered males show their disrespect for women by pretending to be immoral women and read to impressionable children at libraries and schools.
Why, the drag queens are entertaining children, the leftists say; what’s wrong with that?
The answer is that they’re setting a degenerate example for youngsters about what’s morally acceptable.
It wouldn’t take half a second for these perplexed leftists to perceive what would be wrong about, say, a Heroic Nazis Story Hour, with men wearing the swastika-adorned uniform of Adolf Hitler’s military coming in to read about teddy bears to little kids.
The faux Nazis wouldn’t even have to say a word praising Hitler, but just plant the idea that the brown uniforms and swastikas are nothing to worry about, maybe even comforting.
Or what would the leftists think about Ku Klux Klan Story Hour, where friendly hooded kleagles, preferably carrying lynching ropes, sat down to read about unicorns and princesses to children? What sort of undesirable example would that set? They wouldn’t say a single word about slavery or thinking that the wrong wide won the Civil War.
(Even though the Klansmen in history were the military arm of the Democratic Party in the South, which you might otherwise think would endear them to Democratic-tilted leftists.)
Forcing drag queens on the public as admirable role models also was in current news because of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ decision to honor the anti-Catholic exhibitionists known as the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at the Major League Baseball team’s “Pride Night” on June 16, a day that also is the solemn Catholic Feast of the Sacred Heart.
Indeed, the month of June, which traditionally has been observed by Catholics as the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, also officially was declared to be Gay and Lesbian Pride Month by President Bill Clinton in June 1999. Which Barack Obama as president expanded in 2011, Wikipedia says, to include “the whole of the LGBT community.”
Nothing is more American, it might be said, than baseball, apple pie and — the Dodgers lauding deviant sexual exhibitionists? The Dodgers and others dirtied up in the modern mire even presented the drag queens as a charitable organization. Which just happens to blaspheme religion and historic good conduct.
After initially inviting the blasphemous group, the Dodgers rescinded their invitation because of public pressure. But counter-pressure led the Dodgers to invite the nun-mocking transvestites again.
“We have asked the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to take their place on the field at our 10th annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night on June 16,” the Dodgers said. “We are pleased to share that they have agreed to receive the gratitude of our collective communities for the lifesaving work that they have done tirelessly for decades.”
An article at The Guardian website said the Dodgers said they’ll continue to work with “LGBTQ+ partners to better educate ourselves, find ways to strengthen the ties that bind and use our platform to support all of our fans who make up the diversity of the Dodgers family.”
If engaging in some sort of charitable activity confers approbation on an otherwise reprehensible organization, the Ku Klux Klan, for instance, might consider how it could reinstate itself in society’s good graces.
Or is the acceptance that the Dodgers and others extend to the drag queens actually done precisely because of their deviance, and any charity is simply used as an excuse? Any remaining Klan members who collected coins for white kids’ lunches may want to get together, ask the Dodgers for their own special night at the stadium, and put the team to the test.
Promoting the Democratic Party’s core agenda of sexual immorality, bad Catholic Biden had just held a big party at the White House honoring the LGBTQ cause, said San Diego talk host Mike Slater during his regular appearance on June 9 for the Bill O’Reilly daily radio update.
Slater also said the Trump indicters have Trump Derangement Syndrome, and their souls are corrupt.

Loud And Proud Nancy

Another notoriously bad Catholic, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.), eagerly threw out the first pitch at the Washington Nationals’ June 6 Major League Baseball game honoring sexual deviancy, another example of widespread social capitulation to this distortion of nature rejected by most people.
A video showed the 83-year-old Pelosi, standing far away from the mound, tossing a pitch that in the old days would have been described as “girlish,” toward the team mascot wearing rainbow colors.
Pelosi reportedly stressed how important it is to honor serious sexual disorientation. The Associated Press quoted her on June 6 that she was “very honored” to lead off the Pride Night, and that it’s not a matter of “tolerance,” but “we respect and we take pride. I think at this time the challenge that we face is we insist we take pride very vocally.”
In other words, loud and proud Nancy, the Eucharist-loving Catholic.
It’s notable how quickly certain social forces, although in the minority, pull the levers to impose their views on society. A few years ago, this massive push for sexual deviancy at every level wasn’t on the horizon, but today I walk into my local drug store and even see Pride Phoenix tee-shirts on the rack for sale.
Here are none of the moderates’ fears often expressed to conservatives that society isn’t ready for this or that conservative idea — even though those ideas are longstanding and traditional throughout society. Back on January 22, 1973, for instance, was the U.S. “ready” to have the Supreme Court impose massive national permissive “abortion on demand”?
Why, that wasn’t even the issue. It simply was imposing what the “progressive” elite decided must prevail. The dominant media of the time and thereafter duly tailored their coverage, so that this radical change was portrayed as normality, and those who questioned it unworthy of attention, or only a fringe.
At a different level we saw the same manipulation regarding the names of sports teams. People’s sports-team names are chosen for reasons like bravery, courage, resourcefulness, wit and strength. They don’t choose names representing stupidity or weakness.
However, some blind, self-righteous elite — beyond all reason — decided the names were chosen to be offensive and bigoted and must be changed, no matter what. Thus, after years of hammering away, they had the Washington Redskins changed to the Washington Commanders.
Hmm, “Commanders” suggests dominance. Doesn’t that translate to oppression of the weak? Better think this through some more, Beloved Elite. Your day soon is coming to an end. How about the Washington Sponges? Or Jellyfish? Or Zeroes?
As for the Trump indictment, talk host Clay Travis, of the national Travis and Sexton radio talk program, said on June 9 that he thinks Democrats want Trump indicted so that a Republican sympathy vote would give him the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, then Biden would defeat him in the general election.
Travis added on June 12 that he thinks the indictment is indefensible, but Trump had engaged in ham-handed, reckless activity by retaining the classified documents at his residence.
Trump’s defenders pointed out that Biden himself kept classified documents in multiple locations far outside the White House, including in his non-secure residential garage in Delaware.
As for 80-year-old Biden’s defiant plans to run for re-election in 2024 for another four-year term despite widespread public opposition, the frail, cognitively declining politician’s latest health problem, as of June 12, concerned unexpected two-day root-canal surgery that disrupted his schedule.
A story posted June 12 at the New York Post recalled the disclosure in May that Biden is said to eat “like a child,” reportedly including “peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, BLT’s, pizza, cookies, spaghetti with butter and red sauce, and ice cream that he occasionally makes into a full sundae.”
Trump’s diet while president also drew comment, including his unhealthy preference for fast food that reportedly prioritized Big Macs.

An Unfair Justice System

Articulate GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy posted a video contrasting the unfair justice system that pursues prominent Republican politicians while excusing top Democrat politicians.
“This is an affront to every American. To me, this isn’t even about Donald Trump. This is about the future of equal justice in America,” Ramaswamy said. “What we have right now are two tiers of justice: one for Biden and one for Trump. . . . We can’t continue to have these two tiers of justice that vary depending on your political beliefs in this country.”
He said he “read the indictment with an open mind,” but saw that it “reeks of politicization.”
Arizona’s Kari Lake, who is becoming a featured speaker for Republican gatherings around the nation, issued a statement saying in part: “By indicting their chief political opponent, Joe Biden and [Attorney General] Merrick Garland have just committed the most blatant act of election interference in our nation’s history.
“This type of political persecution goes against everything our nation was founded on and if we allow the Biden administration to get away with it, we will lose this country,” Lake said. “We will not cave to this deliberate attempt to interfere in the 2024 election.”
Lake supposedly lost the 2022 gubernatorial election to far-left Democrat Katie Hobbs after remarkable election-day chaos in populous Maricopa County that hindered conservative GOP voters.
The veto-crazed Hobbs, meanwhile, continued to thumb her nose to the majority of Arizonans. She hung four large LGBTQ flags below the windows at the top of the nine-floor Executive Tower housing her offices, disfiguring the view for a distance. The pro-Hobbs Arizona Republic newspaper said Hobbs was taunting Republican legislators.
In a statement Hobbs said in part: “To the LGBTQ+ Arizonans, we celebrate the light and energy you bring to our state, and I will continue to work alongside you until we have an Arizona where everyone, no matter who they are or who they love, has the safety, freedom, and opportunity to truly live their authentic lives.”
Imposing their and her radical view involved stomping on everyone else, of course, as elitists feel they must.
The Republic posted admiringly on June 1: “The political statement reaffirms the Democratic governor’s commitment to LGBTQ communities and taunts conservative lawmakers who have spent this year’s legislative session pressing forward culture-war issues, such as limiting the use of preferred pronouns for minors and limiting drag shows. Hobbs has vetoed or pledged to veto all of those bills.”
Somehow to the Republic, imposing her skewed personal prejudices doesn’t amount to Hobbs pressing forward a culture war.
On June 8 the liberal AZ Mirror website reported that Hobbs had reached the mark of casting 111 vetoes since January 2023 against the GOP-majority legislature, including Senate Bill 1040, “which would have barred transgender students from using school bathrooms or showers that align with their expressed gender identity and from sharing sleeping quarters on school trips with those of the gender they identify with.”
In other words, the Republic-beloved Hobbs pridefully vetoed a bill against males showering with school-age females and sleeping with them on school trips.
Is it any wonder that Hobbs favors permissive abortion?
The AZ Mirror article went on to note that conservative Republican State Sen. John Kavanaugh said his bill would have required schools to make available facilities for people who don’t feel comfortable with using those of their own gender.
The bill simply didn’t impose these people using the facilities of the opposite sex.
The Mirror quoted a Kavanaugh statement that said in part: “Women and young girls deserve privacy and their own protected bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms where they can have such privacy and are safe from the risk of sexual harassment or sexual violence.”
