Society Split Down The Middle . . . Jab Your Arm, Poke Your Conscience, Sting Future Life Of United States

October 31, 2021 Frontpage No Comments

By DEXTER DUGGAN

Americans have been told so many conflicting things since the coronavirus arrived from Communist China — or maybe it came from Europe — that they can be forgiven their skepticism. You don’t have enough fingers and toes to count them all.
You don’t need a mask and can enjoy yourself in San Francisco’s bustling Chinatown.
You should avoid public places. You should lock yourself in your house. If you don’t, the authorities will come to punish you.
You do need a mask. You need multiple masks. At home and outdoors.
Development of a successful vaccine would be far off. Oh, different types of it already have been developed at lightning speed.
Just get your shots and you’re safe, and you can ditch wearing a mask.
Oh, keep wearing a mask or two masks because unvaccinated people still can make you ill. In fact, even though vaccinated, you can be hospitalized or die.
Get booster shots. The original ones don’t last. You may need lots of shots.
Ignore any stories about serious damage and even deaths from the vaccines.
Regard young children to be every bit as much at deadly risk from the virus as the elderly.
Vaccines are voluntary. Vaccines are mandatory. Your holding any job, no matter how vital, is conditioned on your vaccine status.
Going outdoors in crowds for sweaty left-wing political protests is okay.
Right-wingers spread misinformation and the disease.
Moving COVID-sick illegal aliens all around the U.S. is okay. Don’t worry if they’re put in your neighborhood.
Believe whatever Dr. Tony Fauci says, even though the sum of what he has said is completely contradictory. He knows only about as much as you do. But you must believe whatever he says.
Joe Biden can’t keep this all counted up because he doesn’t know how many fingers and toes he has, or where they’re located on his body.
Your nation is falling apart, but when the commander-in-chief isn’t taking naps or regular weekend vacations, he rightfully deserves lots of ice cream. He’s just exhausted from eating his just desserts. With a waffle cone, please.
A Democratic Party that needs division and resentment to thrive has been given the gift by Beijing of the virus that’s creating a suspicious two or three-tiered, segregated society.
Ironically, this division is coming back to bite the Democratic Party.
On October 27 Phoenix radio talk host James T. Harris (KFYI, 550 AM) recalled that in 2018 Cong. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) urged her supporters directly to confront and harass Trump administration officials.
This was because the left-wing Waters said she was upset about how his administration was treating illegal immigrants at the border. But if that upset her — and also the theatrically weeping Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) — back then, she must be losing her mind over how Biden treats the tsunami of them now.
Or had Waters just been trying to gin up partisan outrage against Republicans
Anyway, talk host Harris said this tactic was turning itself around against the Democratic Party. And it was being done by left-wingers, not Republicans.
Harris pointed to disruption at the recent wedding in the hilly picturesque tourist town of Bisbee, in southeastern Arizona, that was officiated by U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D., Ariz.), who became a prime target of left-wing activists for her opposition to Biden’s massive spending legislation.
(See article about Sinema on page 3 of this issue of The Wanderer.)
The lefties on the Arizona sidewalk chanted loudly and carried a number of posters attacking Sinema, despite the distress of the innocent bride and her sad-looking mother. The wedding was at an outside venue separated from the sidewalk by a wall.
Presumably the wedding families who invited Democrat Sinema to officiate weren’t conservative Republicans, so the left may have been eating some of its own again.
One poster, carried by a protester wearing a skeleton mask with gray hair, was covered with dollar signs and said, “Kyrsten Sinema is a corporate schill [sic].” This protester hoisted her sign high and facing inward so it would be visible to people at the ceremony.
Other posters insulted Sinema with such words as sell-out and betrayer.
(To call up the video, use a search term like, “video activists protest outside sinema wedding in bisbee.”)
This was just another incident to try to make Sinema capitulate to cognitively impaired, wild-spending Biden. Spending others’ money, that is.
In early October pro-Biden protesters had invaded an Arizona State University building where Sinema was teaching a class then followed her into a lavatory and videotaped her.
Later, flying back to Washington, D.C., Sinema was confronted by a protester standing next to her seat on the airplane, then the senator was followed by more protesters along the airport concourse.
Finding out her itinerary in order to meet her at the Washington airport is one thing, but purchasing an airline ticket so a protester can stand out in the aisle is quite an achievement — as is doing so without being bothered by the sort of flight attendants who often make the news for challenging passengers over virus-mask issues.
Then there was the continued assault on U.S. sovereignty.
On October 26 talk host Harris interviewed Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot, whose border county in southwestern Arizona, just across the Colorado River from California, daily confronts the crisis of massive illegal immigration from the south directly caused by Biden.
Yuma County shares only 115 miles of border with Mexico but had “over 80,000 apprehensions” and more than 7,000 “getaways,” the latter evading authorities and keeping their countries of origin and intentions unknown, a weary-sounding Wilmot said.
The Border Patrol is no longer patrolling because it’s so busy processing the unauthorized arrivals, Wilmot said. “We’ve got massive amounts of narcotics that the cartels are smuggling in,” plus pursuits and robberies. “…Right now this is the worst it’s ever been.”
The numbers of illegal immigrants “have increased exponentially” from last January, he said, adding that ICE picks them up for a bus ride to Phoenix, Tucson, San Diego, or Texas, but they’re not being vaccinated for COVID.
Wilmot said he thinks Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas “just needs to resign. He’s not doing this country any justice.”

The Necessary
Social Disruptions

On October 18 the New York Post posted a front-page exclusive story about the Biden administration secretly flying chartered jets into New York in the dead of night, full of illegal immigrants from Texas. They were put on buses for rides to their destinations, the newspaper said.
“A source familiar with the operation at the Westchester airport said the underage migrants typically arrive carrying backpacks and are bused to locations including the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, upstate Newburgh, and Bridgeport and Danbury in Connecticut,” the Post said.
“Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday [October 16], it stopped in Syosset, Long Island, at the campus of MercyFirst, a nonprofit sponsored by the Catholic Sisters of Mercy that provides housing and services for ‘children and adolescents who are the victims of societal problems,’ according to its website,” the newspaper said.
One might think that if the Biden administration was so eager to help them with “a better life,” but without causing so much tumult, it would send money to them back in their homelands, where expenses often are lower anyway.
However, that wouldn’t be bringing their bodies here where they can vote for Democrats, nor would it inflame the social disruptions so necessary for the Marxist-poisoned Biden administration’s intentional destruction of the traditional U.S.
Against this background, it’s incredible that the U.S. Catholic Church can’t seem to comprehend how massive unauthorized immigration has gone so awry, or that a Catholic diocese in Arizona even now would hold a prayer service for “migrant justice” — basically a euphemism for illegal aliens — while casting U.S. citizens as bigots, as one recently did.
Washington Examiner commentary editor Conn Carroll posted an intriguing article on October 27 citing Mark Krikorian, of the Center for Immigration Studies, saying the border crisis has gotten so bad, and likely will get worse, not because people are poorer, but because they’re wealthier.
“As Krikorian notes,” Carroll wrote, “the world of 1970 was a lot poorer than it is today. Transportation was more expensive, and communication was difficult. But today, with a smartphone in every hand, it is much easier for migrants around the world to communicate with relatives and friends in the U.S., have money sent to them, and then arrange travel here.
“As a result, where just 2,000 migrants were able to make their way to the U.S. to apply for asylum per year during the 1970s, more than 300,000 migrants traveled to seek asylum in the U.S. in 2019 alone,” Carroll wrote, adding: “…What has changed is the ability of the world’s poor to finance and coordinate travel to the U.S. And this ability will only grow.”
Thus, when the government is run by an America-last administration like Biden’s rather than an America-first one like Trump’s, we’re likely to be submerged by advantage-seeking lawbreakers unless Americans themselves rise up with whatever firm resistance is necessary.
Because these travelers are wealthier, they can apply their lessons for betterment back home. America’s good will and help for them isn’t the same as consenting to become Uncle Sucker.

Biden’s Bleary Mind

Among other news developments, Biden was scheduled to meet at the Vatican with Pope Francis on October 29, the day after this hardcopy issue of The Wanderer went to press. Coverage will appear in next week’s issue.
An item posted October 14 at the America magazine site said the meeting “could create awkwardness ahead of a November meeting of U.S. bishops, who are expected to approve a document that could take aim at Catholic politicians who deviate from Church teaching on abortion.”
Is “deviate” really a strong enough word when Biden forcefully has rejected any restriction of massive cruel abortion in U.S. policy? Would that be like saying Biden on his way to an ice cream store “deviated” from the speed limit by having his motorcade drive at 200 mph through a 15 mph school zone?
Or that Biden deviates from morality from the very moment he wakes up every morning, or noontime? Was there some special gelato the Pope could give Biden that would clear his bleary mind?

Abortion Advocates No Longer Consider It “A Necessary Evil,” They Celebrate Killing Babies

Last week, Kamala Harris became the first vice president in U.S. history to make a public visit to an abortion clinic.
