Turning Arizona, U.S. Into Losers . . . The Know-It-Alls Show Their Talent For Choosing The Worst

February 22, 2023 Frontpage No Comments

By DEXTER DUGGAN

You want to put a face on the tragedies of the last few years that supposedly began with the outburst of COVID-19 in early 2020?
Cong. Nancy Mace (R., S.C.) might epitomize Americans realizing — after the disease was used as an excuse to remake society — how deep was the collusion against them by their own government and tech and social-media giants.
Which includes the venomous left-wing political establishment.
At a February 8 U.S. House Oversight Committee hearing, Mace ripped Twitter executives for strong-arming off their space the expert opinions including those of doctors that disagreed with the government-media narrative about how to deal with the disease.
Mace said she regretted getting the second COVID shot and doubted she’ll ever recover from her subsequent health problems regarding the heart, tremors, and asthma. Mace hardly was alone at reflecting sorrowfully over what she allowed to be done to herself because her “betters” insisted on it.
On February 8 the Mediaite website included this fraught exchange:
“ ‘Where did you go to medical school?’ Mace asked Vijaya Gadde, the former general counsel and head of legal, policy, and trust at Twitter. ‘I did not go to medical school,’ Gadde said. ‘That’s what I thought,’ Mace replied.”
Mace had been just a trusting American accepting with good faith what the national overlords including the vastly unqualified Joe Biden told her to do: Get a shot or multiple shots, feel confident that all is well — and, oh, regard as traitors those who disagree.
The matter was taken so seriously that people in all sorts of walks of life — including law enforcement, the military, health care and education — were told they must get the experimental vaccine injected into their bodies or else be thrown out of their jobs and lose their livelihoods.
Disagreement was no more acceptable about this in the United States than under some Stalinist or Maoist dictatorship.
The right to kill a preborn infant’s body within the mother’s body is regarded as an unassailable right by the establishment. But people’s right to control what is done to their own bodies was scorned as encouraging “the pandemic of the unvaccinated.”
In many instances parents became political activists because they saw arrogant politicians and teacher unions ruining their children’s lives by forcing schools to be closed for many months and/or altering their very nature.
This serious medical matter was handled no more capably by Biden administration bumblers than all of the rest of society under their fist, from the economy to the environment, from crime crossing the border to crime besieging cities.
When the elite presume to do their alleged best, the result often is the worst.
Just entertain the thought that Biden, deciding that his own safety was his most important concern, set out personally to interview applicants to be his chauffeur. And what is Biden’s basic requirement for this hypothetical driver? “Are you homosexual?”
Based on the evidence we see, whether the applicant even has a driver’s license is less important to Biden than the necessity that the wheelman cherishes this disorder in his personality.
Doubt it? Why did the secretary of Transportation receive his Cabinet position? First of all, being homosexual. Why did the White House press secretary get her job? First of all, being lesbian, and then also her racial inheritance, which simply was bequeathed to her, not earned like a college degree.
After clearing these hurdles, then Karine Jean-Pierre also being able to speak glibly probably was helpful. Although KJP’s saying that the country north of the U.S. is “Canadia” on February 13 didn’t help.
As for her being pretty, that probably actually counted against her in an administration of losers, but maybe they charitably cut her some slack on that.
How about reasons for receiving the vice-presidential spot from Biden for the babbling, unpopular Kamala Harris? Her timely sleeping practices out in California, her strong pro-abortionism, and her racial inheritance.
The job for the attorney who is secretary of Health and Human Services? His strong pro-abortionism and hounding of pro-lifers. The U.S. assistant secretary for health? Being a man who thinks he’s a woman.
It’s not that Biden’s government has sinners in it. Everyone’s a sinner. Biden’s administration seeks out and promotes its crew precisely because of and due to the type of their sins, not despite them.
Religion and ethics exist to lead people to repentance and reform. Which explains why Biden’s gang is so hostile to traditional religion.
If Biden’s chauffeur were to drive through red lights and into the ditch every day, why, that only resembles what has happened to the nation itself under notoriously bad Catholic Biden — and the Catholic bishops who wink themselves blind at his unrepentant, aggressive immorality.
Then there are people simply incapable of doing their jobs, like new U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, Pennsylvania Democrat, hobbled by a serious stroke who nevertheless remained on the ballot, supposedly won his race last November, but hardly had been in office before having to go into the hospital for a bit in February.
Someone who thinks every election in Pennsylvania is fair is expecting a lot.
Fetterman reportedly can’t even converse in the hall like other senators because his mind can’t process speech as a healthy person’s would. This isn’t to criticize Fetterman because he has a bad health condition. It’s being critical of Fetterman and his handlers because they thrust him with his illness into where he shouldn’t be. Just like seriously impaired Biden himself in the presidency.
Even a person with the flu is told to stay home and not sicken others. But a man gets to keep his finger on the nuclear button even though he can’t finish sentences, or know the direction he should walk at his own White House.

God’s Continued Mercy

Receiving repentance awaits even the worst, like pro-abortion fanatic Biden, but as long as his handlers tell him soothing lies, how likely is Biden to avail himself of it?
Every day that goes by without Biden getting the U.S. into a war with Russia over Ukraine or a war with Communist China over aggressive spying is a day of God’s continued mercy on the U.S. and the world.
Would you want Fetterman to be your pilot in a commercial jet? Or even your automobile driver? But as long as he, Biden, and the Democrat crew merely imperil the entire nation and world, we seem to be expected to sing: Don’t worry, be happy.
It’s interesting how expectations are set in society in different eras. For reasons best known to themselves, the know-it-alls have set the United States on a decline from an achieving nation of can-do strivers to a self-hating conglomeration of doubters and losers.
Not everyone can “pull themselves up by their bootstraps,” but that used to be more of a general expectation, not a rare exception. A mother didn’t think she was doing something extraordinary by raising, say, seven children who all grew up and got jobs.
But now the know-it-alls say she’s polluting the planet, and the one kid she’s allowed to have (if she doesn’t abort him) should expect to live off the government until he can be replaced by the illegal-immigrant invasion.
On February 13 the Catholic World Report site posted an interview with a California bishop who recalled growing up humbly in a large family in the San Fernando Valley. “All 10 of us children went through 12 years of Catholic education. That was a lot of tuition, paid for by a grocery clerk and a stay-at-home mom,” said Bishop Joseph Brennan.
Ten Catholic-schooled kids with one parent earning a wage outside the home? These days that would sound almost literally impossible, but that was an acceptable U.S. social expectation about a half-century ago, when people were expected to be builders, not wreckers.
But elitists came to decide that they had to impose their increasingly weird notions on an unwilling commonsense populace.
Within a few decades, for instance, Democrat Party leaders went from saying abortion should be “safe, legal and rare” to unlimited, tax-paid and pervasive. Illegal immigration went from a limited, curbed occurrence to a tax-paid, free-for-all stampede. Sexual identity went from male and female to the psychologically and physically aberrant.

Featured Speaker Kari Lake

If this meant weird events happening in elections so that “progressive” Democrats were surprise winners, people were supposed to accept them meekly. But among locations where the elitists made a mistake was Arizona.
If they thought they could twist last November’s gubernatorial election and thereby make well-known GOP nominee Kari Lake disappear while reclusive, tone-deaf Democrat Katie Hobbs reigned supreme as governor, they were wrong.
The aim was to make Lake a pariah and Hobbs an acclaimed presence, but that was backfiring. Hobbs was booed when she showed up at February’s WM Phoenix Open golf tournament. Which was the same crowd reaction feared for Joe Biden if he dared appear at the Super Bowl, so he stayed away from this Arizona event while Dr. Jill attended.
Meanwhile, Lake was announced as the featured speaker at this year’s important Ronald Reagan Dinner at the Conservative Political Action Conference near Washington, D.C., on March 3.
A February 9 news story at the Washington Examiner quoted CPAC spokeswoman Megan Powers Small saying, “Kari has been a breath of fresh air into conservative politics. She has an uncanny ability to tell it like it is” and “has given a voice to the silent majority in Arizona and across the country, and we can’t wait to have her liven up our CPAC stage at the Ronald Reagan Dinner.”
When Lake returned to her native Iowa for well-attended appearances in February, she recalled being one of nine children in a poor family who got her start in Iowa television. The video of one of her talks there showed people stretching far out a door.
She later went on to be a longtime TV anchor in Phoenix.
During her Iowa visit, she said she has been in six or seven states since the Arizona general election and everywhere people tell her “stay in the fight” for the election.
Lake on camera told Iowa reporters, “We need to put these people behind these election crimes behind bars.” Back home in Arizona Lake repeatedly has mentioned local politicians Bill Gates and Stephen Richer as election thieves. Both these men were vocal foes of MAGA Republicans like Lake.
Regarding Biden’s disasters since he supposedly beat Donald Trump in 2020, Lake said, “Stolen elections have deadly consequences.”
As this article was written overnight on February 15-16, Arizonans were waiting to hear a decision by the Arizona Court of Appeals about Lake’s case challenging her narrow supposed loss to Hobbs.
On the November 8 Election Day, when more Republicans than Democrats were expected at the polls, the voting equipment suddenly experienced significant prolonged problems, and more seriously so at voting centers in areas with a higher concentration of Republican voters.
Meanwhile, in addition to some of left-wing Democrat Hobbs’ embarrassments at the statehouse as chronicled recently in The Wanderer, the Democrat got herself into more problems.
Hobbs was interviewed by Fox News’ Shannon Bream in town for the Super Bowl. Bream asked about Hobbs’ opposition to school choice when Hobbs’ own parents had sent her to a private Catholic school. Hobbs’ answer that must have left Catholics cringing — but teacher unions cheering — said that she had “begged” her parents to send her to public schools instead.
One might observe that Catholic schools didn’t seem to do radical pro-abortionist Hobbs much good in informing her thinking.
Also, Hobbs claimed to Bream that by busing illegal immigrants out of Arizona, she’s continuing GOP policies, using money that the state legislature’s Republicans appropriated for that purpose.
However, on February 13 Arizona House Speaker Ben Toma told radio talk host James T. Harris (KFYI, 550 AM Phoenix) that GOP legislators specifically intended the money to send the illegal immigrants to liberal cities in order to point out the problems of open borders. But Hobbs was using the money to send them to their “destinations of choice,” wherever that may be.

They Don’t Know What They’re Doing

Also, after an adverse vote in a state Senate committee, Hobbs decided to rescind her nomination of lockdown-pushing Pima County Health Department head Dr. Theresa Cullen to lead the Arizona Department of Health Services. Tucson is county seat of Pima County.
Although Cullen’s nomination still was to be voted on by the full Senate, the chamber’s Democrat minority leader reportedly interrupted proceedings to say Hobbs was rescinding — a surprise to the GOP.
State Senate President Warren Petersen told KFYI’s Harris on February 15 that Hobbs is “surrounded by some really liberal activists” instead of “those focused on getting things done.” Petersen added, “They just don’t know what they’re doing or how to run a government.”
An article posted February 14 at the Just the News site quoted Senate Committee on Director Nominations Chairman Jake Hoffman: “We have Dr. Cullen on record in a number of media publications stating she supported the scientifically baseless and prolonged school closures, business closures, lockdowns, curfews, mask mandates, vaccine mandates and public shaming of those who did not comply with her discriminatory COVID directives, including her support for race-based public-health policy.”
