Consecrated Hosts Still Missing In Texas Tabernacle Theft
By CHRISTOPHER MANION We reported last week the theft of a tabernacle from the altar of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Katy, Texas. Earlier this week, Katy Police Department Detective George Stewart informed The Wanderer that police had arrested Christian James Meritt, a Katy resident, on May 11, as a suspect in the theft.The stolen tabernacle was discovered in the parking lot of a Burger King Restaurant in Katy, with signs of forced entry but no sign of the missing contents, which included a number of consecrated Hosts.Police are following several leads, says Detective Stewart.
